Resident Evil 6 To Be Yet Another Revamp?

Posted in Rumours with tags , , , on April 19, 2011 by Cazza

A recent comment from Masachika Kawata of Capcom has revealed that the next entry in the Resident Evil series may be another complete revamp. This is what Masachika had to say on Resident Evil 6;

“The series will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level. But we can’t forget about all the previous entries that have led to the creation of many possibilities for the franchise. I can’t say if we’re going to make it (Resident Evil 6) survival horror or a shooter, but I can say that it’ll be totally different.”

I say we can take this as confirmation that Resident Evil 6 is going to be something we’ve never seen from the series. With Operation Racoon City bringing about a change to the series too, it seems Capcom are becoming quite experimental with the franchise. E3 is just around the corner so who knows? Maybe they’ll shed some light on this then.

Review – Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , on April 18, 2011 by Cazza

With the 3DS finally released and the launch window now open, many games have been flooding to the system. Some good, some not so good. The launch line-up hasn’t been the strongest we’ve ever seen for a Nintendo system, but Capcom are here to lend a hand with a picture perfect adaptation of their hit console game, Super Street Fighter IV. Can it make as much of an impact on the 3DS as it did on the Xbox 360 and PS3? Ono-San of Capcom certainly believes so, and so do I. Hit the jump for the full review of Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition!

Put Ya Guns On! Support Japan With Basara

Posted in News with tags , , , on April 18, 2011 by Cazza

This is so cool that I just had to post it. To help support Japan with the recent string of earthquakes, Capcom are selling limited edition Sengoku Basara shirts featuring the series’ poster boy Date Masamune. The shirt reads “This Country Is Strong. We’ll Never Give Up!”, which sounds exactly like something Masamune would say himself.

The shirt will cost you roughly 1500 yen, with 400 of it going towards charity. For such an awesome shirt, they could donate all 1500 yen if they wanted. Unfortunately the e-Capcom store is in Japanese so we don’t know if these shirts will ship outside of Japan.

MegaMan Online Gameplay Trailer

Posted in News with tags , on November 18, 2010 by metazura

You may remember quite a while ago, I posted a trailer of MegaMan Online. For those who didn’t know, MegaMan online is a South Korean exclusive title, of course, utilising the internet to form an MMORPG of sorts.

It may seem a little pointless posting gameplay footage of a title we will never lay our hands on, however, the title looks gorgeous.

The game seems to take heavily from the MegaMan X series, with Sting Chameleon making a more than welcome return.

The gameplay looks very, if not too similar to the Ghosts And Goblins Online title recently announced.

MvC3 – Jill, Shuma, Special Edition confirmed

Posted in News with tags , , , , on November 16, 2010 by metazura

Last night, we were told both Megaman’s Zero and She-Hulk will be making appearances in Marvel Vs Capcom 3. Today, the news keeps rolling in.

Capcom announced today that a special edition of the game will be made available through GameStop stores from February 15th 2011. This is of course the North American release date, with the European launch still unknown.

As you can see, the special edition is brimming full of crossover goodness. A Steelbook case, exclusive art, and exclusive comic and art book, among others.

The main draw here is, for me, the two extra characters made a timed exclusive to this edition. Both Jill Valentine of Resident Evil fame, and Shuma Gorath will be making their return. Fear not; the characters will be made available to everyone once the title makes it’s one month anniversary.

Either way, I think this is a very nice collection, and will most certainly be picking this up, if it is ever to see a release outside of The States. If only to use Jill early.

Okamiden Release Date

Posted in News with tags , , , on November 2, 2010 by metazura

If you, like myself, are looking forward to Okamiden, Sequel to PS2 classic; Okami, mark your calendars for March 18th.

Taking control of a young pup, Amaterasu’s son, your task is to answer the prayers of the inhabitants by saving the land once more. Using stylus controls, of which fans of the series have asked for countless times, you will solve puzzles, meet both new and old faces, and live up to the legacy of Amaterasu.

I find the launch date a little odd, as Nintendo promises the 3DS’ release to be before the end of March. Okamiden will likely be the last of the great DS titles.
