Super Mario 25th Anniversary Collectors Edition

So, where do i start? Super Mario’s Birthday Bash has almost come to a close and to send the big guy off, Nintendo has given us this super special awesome, chocolatey fudge-covered Collectors Edition! Hit the Jump to find out our verdict!

So where to begin, Super Mario 25th Anniversary Collectors Edition (For the purposes of this review, i will refer to it as “Super Mario 25” to save yours and my patience.), is a compilation released by Nintendo to celebrate 25 years of Super Mario gaming history, so whats in the box do you ask? Well have no fear! I shall teach you little one.

Here is an unboxing video of Super Mario 25.

In the box there is:

Super Mario All Stars on a Wii disc.

A History of Super Mario Booklet

Super Mario OST  (Ranging from Super Mario Bros 1 to Super Mario Galaxy 2)

Now let me talk about the History of Super Mario booklet, it includes in-development sketches by Miyamoto himself! and some never before seen doo-dahs and tidbits. The OST has some nice bleeps and bloops and tracks from the Super Mario Galaxy Orchestra!

So what about the game? Well Super Mario All Stars for those who do not know, is a collection of 4 Super Mario titles revamped for the Super Nintendo with updated 16bit artwork. The 4 titles are Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. The updates are very much enjoyable and are probably a much better source for your retro Mario fix.

Super Mario 25 is exactly what it says on the tin, a collectors edition for a budget price. Super Mario 25 is only £20 at retail, which for your own little bit of Super Mario Bros. history, is a steal.

So in closing, it’s not a game, it’s a nice little bit of Super Mario merchandise which includes a game. Do i think you should buy it? Yes, I think that as a collector, it is quite a nice little item to own.

So on our scale, I give Super Mario 25th Anniversary Collectors Edition a 7 out of 10.
