Re-purchasing classics

I don’t know if you’re like me, but when I play a game that really grabs me, I’d buy it a thousand times over. Quite literally.
Take, for example, Street Fighter IV. I received this game for Christmas last year, and since then, have bought both the iOS version and Super Street Fighter IV, with the 3DS version firmly on my shopping list for 2011.

Another example is Resident Evil. I picked up the PS1 classic back in 1999. Then, the re-make on the GameCube, followed by Deadly Silence for the DS in 2007. All great games, with new gameplay mechanics and content added to subsequent releases.

Other titles have come and gone in years of late; GOTY editions, HD versions, and just plain old re-releases on newer consoles have had me hook, line, and sinker.

My question to you, though, is how many times is too much?

  1. I think it depends, ive bought Halo 3 multiple times and when it comes to point where its not worth selling anymore, i keep it.

But with fairly new purchases i buy them, play them and then move on.
