DS/PSP cannot handle Super Street Fighter IV

In this week’s Famitsu magazine, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that he had planned to release Super Street Fighter IV on the PSP and DS. However, the game did not perform at the level they wanted. After seeing the graphical capabilities of the 3DS, Ono went forward with the decision to create Super Street Fighter IV 3D. The 3DS’ wireless functions were also a big part in the decision, as Ono firmly believes communication is a strong point for a Street Fighter title.

The gameplay of Super Street Fighter IV 3D will stay the same as the console releases, and the 3D will  focus on the effects of the moves. So expect Hadouken’s and Sonic Boom’s flying out your 3DS screen sometime next year. This sounds rather promising. The game is looking nice and it’s pretty much unchanged from the PS3 and 360 release. Oh boy, Hakan’s second ultra is going to look so good in 3D

  1. This kinda makes me think what they were expecting from the psp and the DS, it sounds like they were expecting something vaguely close to the console versions. Which is unachievable on both handhelds
